Why not have your special day in the grounds of our unique Grade II listed building in Workington, Cumbria.

Situated on the outskirts of Workington, the Helena Thompson Museum is a unique Grade ll Listed Building now used as an attractive wedding venue for civil wedding ceremonies and receptions, whilst retaining its primary function as a museum of local history and as a centre for civic activities and events. During weddings the building is closed to the public and is at your disposal for your period of hire.

The Museum is licensed to conduct civil weddings and we can comfortably accommodate 65 guests for a seated ceremony in the Costume Gallery. We also hold a drinks licence.

We have parking for up to 20 cars at the rear, as well as authorised parking within Horse Close car park

We cater for all occasions including:
Weddings, Wedding Anniversaries, Drink Receptions, Renewing of Vows, Baby Showers, Christening Parties, Celebrations, Funeral Teas and Photography Sessions – please contact us if you have a different event you would like to hold at The Helena Thompson.

We had a wonderful time at today’s Easter event, friendly people and great activities that kept the kids entertained, this was the second event I have been to and my daughter loved both of them and can’t wait to visit again soon, thanks for a great afternoon!
